When talking about a chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe. Most of us would probably start thinking about how complicated the steps would be, How each ingredient would matter, and how the oven is a must. Well, This is your day. Here’s something I tried in the past months that made me a superhero to my kids. lol.
I tried and tried the recipes all over the internet just to make sure this chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe the best ( for my kids) and no need for an oven.
Technically you are still baking BUT!! there’s no oven. All you need is a deep pan and a stovetop, cooktop. or whatever you use at home. Here are the main ingredients with the chocolate chip cookies.
I’m no professional baker I’m just an average blogger. But when I want something so bad. I make sure that I’ll get it whatever it takes. And during the pandemic my handy dandy most trusted oven broke down.
Of all the days of the year (sigh), And of all the years..I knew I have to improvise. And use the only ingredients that is readily available at home.
Chewy chocolate chip cookie ingredients:
3 cups all purpose flour or bread flour
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1/tsp salt
2 eggs ( 1 egg and 1 egg yolk)
1 cup melted butted (boiled to golden brown)
2 cups chocolate chips or chocolate chunks(chopped chocolate)
2 tsp vanilla essence
Process
- In a big deep pan. Put the round cooking rack inside and cover it. Preheat your pan for about 10-15 minutes. This is optional if you want to bake your cookie asap then do this
- Combine all-purpose flour, salt and baking soda set aside
- Melt one cup of butter and let it boil to a golden brown. Keep mixing to make sure the butter is evenly brown. Cool it down and set aside
- In a separate bowl, add brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla essence. Pour in the melted butter and mix it well with a hand mixer. Make sure that the butter has already cooled down. Yes, this matters. Not cooling it down will result in a more greasy cookie. Unless that’s how you like your cookie.
- Add the eggs and continue mixing.
- Then add the flour mixture, You can add them by thirds.
- Next, add the chocolate chips and chunks and fold them nicely and evenly.
