You probably heard about Dalgona coffee (comes from a famous candy in Korea, Dalgona candy) quite often these days. And you’ve been wanting to try it but is in doubt because it looks sophisticatedly made and with rare coffee ingredients.

Nope. It is not. It is actually pretty easy to do and the taste is AMAZING!. Yep! that’s why I knew I’m going to do this again and again. And you can also make a chocolate version of this if you are not so into coffee like my kids.

I had to make two kinds every time I prepare this as a snack. Two glasses of Dalgona coffee and Three glasses of Dalgona Chocolate for kids. Whew! So hard being a mom these days. And you’ll all agree to that.

We all need to stay positive during this crisis. And one way to do so is to spend your time doing and learning new things like cooking and baking and preparing snacks and beverages for the whole family. So here we go.

Dalgona Coffee Recipe

Ingredients:

2 Tbsp Instant Coffee

2 Tbsp Sugar

2 Tbsp Hot Water

A glass of Fresh Milk

Ice

Step 1 – In a mixing bowl. Mix coffee and sugar. Add the 2 tbsp hot water. Mix well.

Step 2- Then, with the use of a whisk. Beat them until the mixture turned lighter in color. To make this super fast especially if you don’t like to beat your arm out.

You can use a hand mixer to mix the ingredients. It will take just a few minutes and it will turn into a nice light brown color. You’ll now that it’s done when it’s already thick and not runny.

Step 3- Finally, add enough ice to your glass of fresh milk and you can now pour in your mixture on top. You’ll see it won’t sink.

This tastes amazing. But of course, you better mix it before drinking it. I really think that the concentrated mixture of coffee and sugar that is well blended together compliments well with the Ice cold fresh milk. Which makes it taste fresh and came straight from a coffee shop

Tips on how to make Dalgona coffee taste great every time.

-Use fresh milk I tried to use other milk before. It tastes okay but the fresh milk does not overpower the coffee making it taste smoother and leaving the original taste of the instant coffee better.

-I recommend any type of instant coffee. Using your favorite instant coffee won’t hurt. Just make sure that you don’t use those with creamer that is usually in packets.

Using instant coffee mix (with sugar, or with sugar and cream) will not work with this kind of coffee. It will make your coffee very runny making it sink and won’t float on top of your glass of milk.
