It’s the month of love. If you feel like traveling with your loved ones, February may be the perfect month for you. Season of love doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll just go on a date right? There’s so many places waiting to be seen and experienced, restos to dig in and nature to explore and plunge in. So let me show you a superb list that will blow your valentines away. Here are 8 of the must-visit places this February.
1. Venice, Italy-
Hidden bridges. Cobblestone alleyways. Beautiful canals traversed by boat. No wonder Venice rates as one of the world’s best cities when it comes to love.
February can be a great time to take in piazzas and palaces, gawk at amazing architecture and wander through boutiques and art galleries. Granted, average highs usually only make it into the 40s F (4 to 9 C) if that, but it’s usually the city’s driest month, too.

2. British Colombia-
Let’s face it — beautiful British Columbia beckons all year long. But it garners special attention in February for winter sports, especially skiing.
Two ski areas are really close to downtown Vancouver, BC’s biggest city. If you don’t feel like venturing too far out in the wilds, Grouse Mountain and Cypress Mountain may be for you.
If you want to go to the biggest ski resort in North America, head on up the road to Whistler-Blackcomb, where some events of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games were held. It has more than 200 trails and is known for its big snowfalls.

3. New Zealand –
The twin-island nation on the opposite side of the planet is rarely an obvious choice for travelers in search of sunshine – but there is much to be said for a tour of New Zealand as February clicks into gear. This is the last month of pure summer in this portion of the Southern Hemisphere (the equivalent of August in Europe) – and if autumn is just starting to flicker upon the trees of the South Island, this only adds to the romance of a road trip.

4. The Maldives –
Let us deal with statistics. Some 1,192 islets and coral outcrops – stretched across 26 atolls and 35,000 square miles of water – make up this archipelago nation in the Indian Ocean. Very few of these soft shards veer away from the template – golden sands, swaying palm trees, azure shallows. If you want variety of terrain, do not visit the Maldives. If you want temperatures in the thirties Celsius and unrestrained beach luxury, you have chosen well.

5. Oman-
Flights to Oman are often cheaper than a trip to Paris, with twice the mileage. And as far as seasons go, February offers a mild, Mediterranean-esque climate. Head to the mystical port city of Muscat, Oman’s dreamy capital, which houses two 500-year-old Portuguese forts, a Royal Opera House, and a mosque with an impressive 164-foot dome. To dive deeper into the country’s extraordinary scenery, drive two hours west of Muscat to stay in the ornate Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar, which nests 6,500-feet high in the mountains.

6. Honolulu, Hawaii-
Tired of tranquil beaches with puny waves? February is big wave season on Oahu, and daredevils congregate around the North Shore to catch swells of up to 30 feet (hint: this kind of surfing is best left to the pros). While this makes for great photo opportunities, other travelers who like to be more hands-on might opt for a whale watching tour in Oahu’s southern seas — during the month of February, you’re likely to catch a glimpse of a majestic kohola, or humpback whale, making its annual migration.

7. Keywest, Florida –
It’s all about the water in Key West, and February offers the perfect balance of clear skies, calm water, and sunshine to justify a weekend hop down to one of Ernest Hemingway’s favorite southerly hideouts. These days, tour operators and hotels are encouraging travelers to get out and explore the gorgeous marine ecosystems that surround the islands. At Oceans Edge Resort, on Stock Island, guests can dive right in with the dolphins and sea turtles, thanks to a comprehensive list of aquatic activities ranging from kayaking and paddleboard meditation to jetskiing and scuba diving.

8. Hokkaido, Japan-
You want to dive head first into winter, the northernmost island of Hokkaido in Japan is a great place to consider. February brings the greatest snowfall and the city of Sapporo celebrates with a week-long festival featuring spectacular sculptures made of ice and snow. Elsewhere you can take advantage of the ski resorts and relax in the hot spring resorts known in Japanese as ‘onsen’. At Yunokawa you can even watch the local monkeys bathe in the warm waters.
