Recently, My whole family went to Bangkok, Thailand to celebrate my parents 40th Wedding Anniversary. Although it was a short trip I really think it’s exhaustingly fun.

Not every couple on this planet reaches this kind of milestone. They deserve this trip. How I wish my better half and I would also reach 40 and above years together. I’m excited to share our trip with you.

Thailand is very rich in culture. You can see them in every city like Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Mai etc. It’s a tropical country so expect the heat and humidity at all times. It wasn’t hard for me when it comes to the temperature as I’m used to this weather.

One thing I noticed is traveling around these months may not be all sunny. Every day starts sunny but after lunchtime, rain starts to pour. It’s not “typhoon-like” kind of rain. It lasts from 15 minutes up to an hour or two every afternoon. Then the sky will clear up after.

If you want to go to Thailand and stay in an awesome hotel, B &B’s, Beach resort and homestays even on a tight budget you can book at the Agoda They have thousands of hotels to choose from providing 38 different languages and has the best price guaranteed. Yep, this is where we booked our Thailand trip.

While there’s so much to get busy in Bangkok, I narrowed them to 6 things to guide you on the best things to do in Bangkok the fun and easy way.

6 Fun And Easy Things To Do In Bangkok

1. Take The Stairs At Wat Arun

Things to do in bangkok in 3 days 2- the wise half

It’s not that I want to tire you the moment you step in Bangkok. And you might be thinking, where’s the easy and fun part? lol. Well, I just want to emphasize the uniqueness of this temple. This is one of the temples that I find to be different in a beautiful, unique way.

It’s not like the rest of the other temples I’ve seen in my past travels. Our tour guide mentioned it was made with broken pieces of China. If you would take a closer look you’ll realize it was. And It’s amazing.

The stairs were too steep compared to normal stairs. It was higher than the usual so it’s kind of hard to go up fast or go down in a hurry. It was tiring really, Within just seconds of taking the stairs (Oh My! lol) But, I think it’s meant to be that way. And the view was picturesque.

2. Float With The Boats At The Floating Market-

I was amazed at how the longtail boats here run so fast. We saw one boat with a huge shiny new engine out of the boat. It’s like seeing a new Harley. One of the drivers said they use car engines to run boats there. My son and I think it’s cool.

And there were narrow parts of the river Just imagine how these drivers get to pass through it without hitting any floating stalls or other boats. I like the ideas of the floating market. It’s very unusual but fun. I’m just wondering how many coins have dropped into the river. If I’m not mistaken, The river is 15 feet deep. Too deep to swim for a dropped THB 5.

3. Try Street Food-

Okay, I’m guilty of eating in between meals whenever I travel. And It’s okay! You never know when is the next time you’ll go and eat those kinds of food ever again. So, If it’s bad then it’s a good experience. If it’s good, then remember it so you’ll look for it next time you’ll have the chance.

Not every country has an awesome array of street food. So take your chance and grab some. Just don’t overdo it. Remember, You’re still a tourist you don’t want to go running looking for toilets every hour. lol!

4. Shop Till You Drop At Chatuchak and Siam  Paragon-

Siam Paragon is a huge mall connecting to another mall with the name I forgot. And Chatuchak is a Night Market. Since it usually rains in the afternoon. We went to the Siam Paragon first and later to the night market. And since it’s shopping time, Yep. I forgot to take pictures, Too busy to haggle lol

Here’s a tip at night markets. Don’t go buy something you like the first time you see it, go around and check other stalls for that stuff before you go buying. Then, don’t be afraid to haggle. Some Thais can’t express well in English, so they will give you their calculators and show you their offer.

My dad’s style is to wait until they meet at the same price, But if my dad thinks it’s still pretty high. He would slowly walk away. And it works every single time. The seller would give the price he wants.

And bring lots of money lol. Well, Just enough pocket money will suffice. There are so many things to buy at a very cheap price. But if you’re on a budget, I’m pretty sure you’ll still end up buying tons of stuff. Again, Because it’s so cheap.

5. Ride An Elephant And Be Amazed At the Crocodile show at Samphran Elephant Ground and Zoo-

Okay so here’s where I made a mistake. I thought that there’s only one Elephant Attraction in Bangkok. I was so wrong. I thought we’re going to bathe and ride one. Since I didn’t do my homework on researching the place (so busy with the world).

My father who’s been wanting to interact with the elephants and has been bugging my sibs and I about it ( The elephant sanctuary) for the past months, Was actually quite happy with the show and the ride. And not to mention the highly trained guys at the crocodile show. The kids also had fun with the animals. That’s me with my eldest and my youngest.

6. Take A Picture With the Reclining Buddha In Wat Pho.

This is the first thing on my mind to do when we started planning the trip, turned out it was the last thing I did. Saving the best for last of course. It was one of the top 25 destinations of the World. And It is indeed huge! When you’re there you know you’re definitely in Thailand.

This is something I can now take off on my bucket list. Although I think it’s not the best time to go there on a Sunday Morning because of the crowd ( What do I expect?) It’s still worth my time. I suggest going there any other days than at the weekend. Not just because of the less crowd but because you’ll have the chance to take very good pictures without any hindrances.

Some Helpful Tips To Take Note Of :

(Females) Don’t forget to wear pants or long skirts whenever you’re visiting temples. You want to follow their tradition to cover your legs and arms. Or just bring a scarf when you visit any temples. Although I saw some tourists wearing sleeveless, You may want to show respect to their Gods.

When taking a taxi or tuctuc, Some drivers may ask for a higher fare and some may even offer tour packages. Don’t be afraid to haggle and just insist on the place you want to go. I’ve heard some of them are paid to bring tourist to souvenir shops.

When eating out. Don’t be afraid to ask if the food is spicy because most of the Thai dishes are. You can ask which ones are not. Although I love spicy foods there are just some dishes I find to be too hot for me. But all in all, I love Thai dishes in general.

So yeah, That’s just a few things we did there. I can’t wait to share with you my next trip!  Always remember ” The best gifts you can give your loved ones are memories”. Til next time.
